Erin Hyer, SLP


Hyer Learning & Diagnostics is directed by Erin Hyer, licensed and certified speech language pathologist. She has been helping individuals with speech, language and learning problems for nearly 25 years. Ms. Hyer has worked as a consultant and therapist for both public and private schools, a lead diagnostician for psychiatric hospitals, and an owner - director of a private practice in Southern California specializing in early speech-language development, auditory processing, language-based learning skills, reading and social-pragmatic development.
Ms. Hyer recieved her master's degree from California State University, Fullerton. She holds clinical licenses in both California and Vermont; and, is a certified member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Ms. Hyer has continued her training and expanded her expertise in the areas of Autism, Auditory Processing Disorders, neuroplasticity, reading development, and social-behavioral implications of learning. She trains graduate students and clinical fellows in diagnostics and interventions strategies. She presents to parent groups, allied health professionals, and teachers relating to early childhood development and implications of language-based learning challenges across all ages.
Ms. Hyer has been a certified provider of the computer-based language and reading programs developed by Scientific Learning Co., Fast ForWord since 1997 with remarkable outcomes. She continues to successfully use the Interactive Metronome program with a variety of client issues relating to attention, processing, coordination and integration of language and learning. ​
